Educational Process Content
The aim of our Institute is not only to provide its students with a sound
command of theoretical principles and modern analytical tools but also to develop
in them certain qualities, such as individual initiative and critical thinking
which are necessary in order to assume a leading role in today's rapidly changing
world.
Generally, the instruction in IMI proceeds in three ways:
Full-time education
Part-time education
Distance learning
The established degrees are:
A level: 2-year term of studies in the Lyceum, affiliated to IMI, for
general school leavers;
Bachelor's Degree: 4-year term of studies for lyceum graduating-students,
school leavers and for students graduating colleges;
Bachelor's Degree (Second Degree): 2-year term of studies for persons with
high degree diploma other than economic studies.
Educational Process Organization
International Institute of Management has the following structure:
5 Departments (Management; Marketing & Public Relations; Accounting, Finance
and Banking; International Economic Relations, Applied Foreign Languages),
6 main Departments (Lyceum, University Studies, International Relations, Research,
Public Relations, Personnel & Accounting),
2 auxiliary Departments (Logistics and Professional Orientation).
IMI's academic staff currently consists of 3 professors, 7 assiociate
professors, 31 adjunct lecturers, and 18 lecturers. Adjunct lecturers hold a
Ph. D. Degree or its equivalent, some of them obtained the Degrees in Western
Universities. Faculty members are elected on the basis of their academic qualifications,
a Ph.D. Degree and published research.
IMI Curriculum
The curriculum comprises the following compartments:

In the framework of Business Administration Department, IMI offers the following
specialties:

University studies (full-time):
Intended: for school leavers with general diploma, persons from lyceums
and colleges.
Duration : 4 years
Languages of teaching: Romanian, Russian, French, English
Specialties: IMI gives to students from the first two years a general
education of economic culture, with further progress to the above-enumerated
specialties beginning with the 3-rd year of studies.
Departments (information available for full-time University studies):
There are two foreign Departments at IMI: French Department and English Department.
University studies (part-time)
Intended: for school leavers with general diploma, persons finishing
lyceums and colleges.
Duration: 4 years
Specialties: similar to the university degree.
Post University studies
Intended: for holders of higher degree diploma other than economic studies.
Duration: 2 years
Specialties: similar to the university degree.
International Programmes
"Double Degree" Programme (Distance learning programme)
Double Degree programs are paralel programs in which students study silmultaneously
at Eastern European universities and the participating Dutch universities of
professional education (Hogescholen) until they rech the educational - qualification
level of Bachelor, and where each student who fully fulfilled the requirements
of the academic programme, receives both the Degree issued by their own university
and the Dutch Degree issued by the parcipating in Dutch Universities of professional
education.
In this context, NOVI University for Professional education and ETCN designed
and developed a Double Bachelor Degree Programme in cooperation with International
Institute of Management.
Perspective for the students
The students interest in enhancing their career opportunities by:
1. Being exposed to modern Western knowledge in business ;
2. An internationally recognised Bachelor's degree diploma ;
3. Access to a foreign faculty ;
4. Experiencing and learning about different cultures ;
5. Learning and improving foreign languagies ;
6. Familiarising with the latest infotmation technologies.
The programme is mostly paid for out of funds from the Dutch government. To
participate in the programme the students must pay a certain amount of money.
"MBA" Programme
The Master of Business Administration programme was organized in collaboration
with Keele University (England) within the framework of the "Financial
Services and Business Management in Moldova" Project, financed by British
Council, Know How Fund's and Eurasia Foundation.
This short term programme (12 months), realized part time, has comprised through
studies structured into modules: Management, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Marketing
and Business. The 30-week programme was completed with a performance period,
during which students work over their final projects.
Intended: for persons with higher education degree who want to become managers
with proficiency, able to work at "top management" level.
International Activities
IMI is promoting cooperation with universities and other organizations
of higher learning and research in other countries. For the time being the Institute
has signed bilateral agreements with the following universities:

- North Carolina University;(USA)
- University from Genoa (Italy);
- Keele University (England);
- International Institute of Management (Ucraine);

- National Institute of Economic Development (Romania);
- Central European University (CEU) - Open Society IMI participated
in more than 20 International Projects, some of them are:
- "Improvement of Economic Education in Moldova" Project financed
by TACIS;
- "Financial Services and Business Management in Moldova" Project
financed by REAP, Know How Fund's;
- "MBA - Moldova" Project financed by Eurasia Foundation;
- "Creation of a French Department at IMI on September 1, 1997" Project
financed by AUPELF - UREF;
- "Modern Applied Languages" Project financed by European Training
Foundation (ETF);
- Project financed by Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) providing
Ministers and Economic Departments personnel re-training;
- "Promoting Development through Higher Education in Moldova" Project
financed by USIA, aiming the establishment of university partnership between
University of North Carolina (USA), Agrarian University and International Institute
of Management from Moldova;
