NOVI University for Professional Education (Hogeschool NOVI) is founded in 1958 by former world chess champion Professor Max Euwe. Hogeschool NOVI has locations in Amersfoort (central part of The Netherlands) and Breda (southern part of The Netherlands). The Double Degree Program is supported by the Breda office of Hogeschool NOVI.
Pentascope, a major Dutch consulting and implementation company participates in Hogeschool NOVI.
Besides the participants NOVI has cooperation with some Dutch multinationals like Pink Roccade, ING-bank, Council of Rotterdam and the port of Rotterdam.
This guarantees the transfer of knowledge and skills between important companies and the university.
The students
Hogeschool NOVI is mainly focused on courses for homogenous target groups in the Dutch market. This means that also the bachelor courses of Hogeschool NOVI are especially created for working people who need up to date and practical useable courses. Hogeschool NOVI also highly focuses on skills. Hogeschool NOVI has programs for big Dutch organizations like NIBRA (the Dutch academy for fire brigade).
One unique point of Hogeschool NOVI is that their education takes place all over the Netherlands. This is in contrast with the state owned universities which are formally only allowed to do their education in the city they are located.
At this moment Hogeschool NOVI has more than 700 bachelor Degree students and more than 1000 students for shorter courses.
The Dutch system of education
In The Netherlands the system of education consists two different types of universities: the state universities and the private universities. Hogeschool NOVI is a private university. An example of state university is Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
This system is comparable with the system of education in Ukraine, Moldova and Estonia. KROK, IMI and EBS are private universities, so is Hogeschool NOVI.
The value of the diploma of private universities is the same as the value of the diploma of state universities.
CROHO registration of NOVI Bachelor Programs
Each Dutch University of Professional Education who wants to provide Bachelor Degrees must be accredited by the Dutch Ministry of Education. Those universities who are allowed to provide these bachelor degrees have a “CROHO-registration”. CROHO means “Central Register of Higher Education”. All in the CROHO registered courses are subject of the Dutch system of accreditation.
The bachelor degree of NOVI
NOVI is a private university that is allowed by the Dutch ministry of Education to provide different types of bachelor degrees like Bachelor in Business Administration and Bachelor in Techniques. The value of the bachelor degree provided by Hogeschool NOVI is the same as the bachelor degree provided by state universities like Hogeschool van Amsterdam. The international recognition of the bachelor degree of Hogeschool NOVI is the same as the Bachelor Degree of Hogeschool van Amsterdam.

First of all this is the system of accreditation of the Dutch Ministry of Education. Periodically our university is being visited by the Dutch Ministry of Education to check each part of our educational system.
